12th at Tongeong World Series

At the first ever Dextro Energy World Championship Series event in Tongeyong, Korea, I finished in 12th place.

The new Series consists of 7 events (Tongeyong, Madrid, Washignton DC, Kitzbuhel, Hamburg, London, Yokahoma) and one final (Gold Coast), and the winner of the Series will be crowned World Triathlon Champion.

Despite going into the event in very good shape, I unfortunately picked up a stomach bug in the 48hrs preceding the event, which forced me to abandon most of my training in those last 2 days.

All things considered, I was satsified to salvage a strong finish from such an unsettled build up...next stop, Madrid!

Fastest lap at Sussex County Road Relays

At the Sussex Country Road-Relay Champs I managed the fastest lap of the day (10secs shy of the record mind you), hitting a PB through 3km as well. Hopefully that shows I still have some speed left after my 70.3 adventure.

For a full write up (and a very flattering photo) visit the Sussex Athletics website here.

Dextro Energy Triathlon - Gold Group

I have been officially invited (and accepted!) to be a member of the 'Gold Group' for the "2009 Dextro Energy Triathlon - ITU World Championship Series", which kicks off in 3 weeks time in Korea, which I am planning to be my first race of the season.

The Gold Group is a top tier group of athletes chosen to help promote the sport and the new Series to the international audience.

11th at California 70.3

On Sunday 4th April, I competed in my first Ironman 70.3 race, in Oceanside, California.

In a very competitive field (the winner went 7 minutes quicker than last years winning time), I finished 11th, having exited the water in 3rd place.

For information on how it went, and what else I've been up to, see my Blog page.

New Website Goes Live!

After a few days of hard labour (and with a massive dose of gratitude to Kristen at brand betty for the new page header!), my new website is now online. I hope it's a little easier on the eyes, a little easier to navigate, and a little easier to keep up with what I'm up to.

Hopefully there won't be too many teething problems, but if you find any bugs that I haven't picked up, please feel free to contact me here.

Enjoy!
